From the Taskforce Chair

The momentum behind LambEx26 continues to build and it’s fantastic to see so many producers already getting behind the event and registering to attend. In fact, ticket sales are currently 83% ahead of where we were at the same point for LambEx24, which is a great sign of the strong industry appetite to come together again in Adelaide this July. Encouragingly, the majority of registered delegates are from sheep producers, tracking at 63% of registered delegates, so it’s shaping up to be a fantastic turnout from the people at the heart of our industry.

Thanks to the generous support of our partners, we’ve also been able to reduce the sheep producer ticket price by $100, making it even more accessible for producers to attend. With registrations already tracking strongly, I encourage you to secure your ticket early to take advantage of the Earlybird rates to ensure you don’t miss out!

As a sheep producer myself, one of the things I’m most excited about this year is the focus on putting producers front and centre of the program. For LambEx26 we’re featuring more producers on stage than ever before. Through our Telling Our Stories sessions, producers will share real on-farm examples of what’s working in their businesses, the challenges they’ve faced and the practical lessons they’ve learned along the way. The aim is simple: to ensure delegates leave LambEx with ideas they can take home and apply in their own operations.

We’re also continuing to announce more producers who will be part of the program, with several exciting names already confirmed and the following additional producers announced today; Jack O’Connor, Sam Winter-Cooke, Angus Whye and Nic Economou. See full lineup of announced speakers here

Behind the scenes, a huge amount of work is already underway across the conference program. Just under 6,000 lambs have now been processed as part of the AMPC Carcase Showcase, with producers from five states represented in the data set. This will once again provide some fascinating insights into carcase performance and genetics from across the country.

We’re also continuing to search for the next generation of industry leaders through the LambEx Trailblazers Competition, with applications extended until 5th April. If you know a young person aged 18–35 that would like to be in the running to win $3,000, network with the leaders of the industry and score a complimentary ticket to LambEx26, please encourage them to apply by forwarding this link.

Beyond the stage, the trade floor is shaping up to be one of the largest floors in LambEx history, with 82 exhibitors already locked in and strong demand continuing from businesses keen to connect with delegates attending the conference. Alongside the trade exhibition, a vibrant Marketplace and a number of charity partners will also showcase the breadth of the sheep industry and the organisations that support it.

We were also delighted to draw the winner of the LambEx Earlybird Sofitel Adelaide Competition, with congratulations going to Jim Meckiff from NSW, who will enjoy a luxury stay at Sofitel Adelaide during LambEx26 and a LambEx merchandise pack. Thank you to everyone who registered early and went into the draw.

The level of industry support for LambEx26 has been phenomenal and the event continues to build strong momentum with valuable opportunities for businesses to connect directly with the entire sheep supply chain. Although selling fast, a number of sponsorship and exhibition opportunities remain available.

If you or your business would like to be involved, please register directly from our website (Sponsor Link and Exhibitor Link) or if you’d like to discuss before committing please reach out to Carolyn Eggart, Partnerships & Events Manager, at Carolyn.Eggart@lambex.org.au or 0447 600 095.

I look forward to seeing many of you in Adelaide in July.
