LambEx On Tour is a core part of the LambEx26 experience, taking place on Friday 10th July 2026 as the conference program continues beyond the convention centre and into the regions.
Designed as the immersive closing chapter of LambEx26, LambEx On Tour features seven curated experiences across South Australia, showcasing innovation, production systems, supply chain leadership, regional stories, culture, flavour and craftsmanship.
With options ranging from research and production insights to behind-the-scenes supply chain access, heritage experiences, and premium food and wine discoveries, there’s a tour to match every interest.
Tickets can be purchased at the time you register and are limited. Tours are expected to sell out fast, so choose the experience that suits you and secure your place early!

Tour 1:
Research to Results- Lamb Industry Innovation Tour
Discover the future of agriculture with an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience.
This full-day tour brings together cutting-edge science and practical application through visits to the Adelaide University Innovation Hub and SARDI Turretfield Research Centre. Participants will gain insights into emerging technologies and management approaches designed to lift productivity, improve lamb survival, reduce emissions and support profitable sheep enterprises. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a Barossa winery as part of this immersive day of science, sustainability, and innovation in South Australia’s agricultural heartland.

Boots, Wool & Brews
Join us for an unforgettable day of craftsmanship, heritage, and flavour!
Start your journey at the iconic RM Williams Factory, where you’ll witness the artistry behind Australia’s legendary boots and leather goods. Next, dive into the world of premium fibres at Michell’s Wool, exploring the fascinating process that transforms raw wool into luxurious textiles. After soaking up all that tradition and innovation, we’ll head to Coopers Brewery for a well-deserved lunch and a taste of South Australia’s finest brews. Tour 3:
Paddock to Processor -Inside the Red Meat Engine
A rare end-to-end view of red meat production
Begin with a behind-the-scenes tour of Thornby Feedlot, where you’ll experience large-scale, best-practice feedlot operations and gain insight into intensive livestock production, animal welfare and efficiency at scale.
Next, enjoy a relaxed lunch, overlooking the Murray River and then finish the day with a rare opportunity to tour the brand-new TFI Beef Processing Facility in Murray Bridge, seeing first-hand how world-class processing, technology and automation are shaping the future of Australian beef.
This is a must-do tour for anyone passionate about production systems, supply chain integration and the future of red meat.

Tour 4:
Paddock, Plate & Pinot
Explore supply chain innovation and value-adding in the Clare Valley.
Visit Balco Australia, where participants will see how premium oaten hay is processed, containerised and exported, and hear how quality, innovation and long-term partnerships underpin a globally recognised forage business.
The tour will then head to Wunderbar Prime Lamb to hear directly from the owners about their unique humane accreditation, integrated supply chain and partnership with Coopers Butchers. Participants will also have the opportunity to sample Cooper’s Butchers award-winning sausages.
The day includes a delicious lunch at The Magpie and Stump, followed by a tour and wine tasting at Martindale Hall, a grand 19th-century country mansion.

Tour 5:
A Barossa Lamb Industry Tour - Containment, pastures and milling
See practical containment feeding systems in action in the Barossa Valley.
This full-day tour will visit two sheep producers in a mid-rainfall region, showcasing effective containment pen design, feeding strategies and long-term pasture trial results that highlight the benefits of containment feeding for pasture protection and recovery. Participants will also hear an update on MLA PDS ewe health challenges in containment systems.
The day includes lunch at Peter Lehmann Wines and a visit to Laucke Feed Mill to see the pelleting plant and learn about manufacturing feeds.

Tour 6:
Culture, Corks & Cocoa

Stroll through the Adelaide Botanic Gardens on a vibrant Bush Food & Social History tour, uncovering the cultural significance behind Australia’s native botanicals.
Then, continue your journey to the National Wine Centre with a guided Indigenous wine mini masterclass, where you’ll taste a curated selection of wines paired with canapés that hero local ingredients.
Finally, gather around a decadent Haigh’s chocolate-chisel station for a fun, hands-on finale. A delicious blend of culture, connection, wine, and South Australian flavour.

Tour 7: Hills, Thrills & Tasty Spills
Taste, create and celebrate the best of the Adelaide Hills.
Escape to the Adelaide Hills for a day filled with fresh flavours and good vibes. We’ll kick things off exploring two orchards (Ceravolo and Ashton valley Fresh) before heading to Beerenberg for hands-on scone-making, a behind-the-scenes look at their production, plenty of tasty samples and a relaxed, delicious lunch.
Then it’s off to Grünthal to wrap up the afternoon with a tasting session and plenty of laughs. A fun, tasty day out.
